Modern lightweight technology and materials are crucial in achieving the European Green Deal Goals. This presentation will emphasize the importance of lightweigting for resource efficiency, saving CO2 emissions and a resilient economy. Therefore, an overview about the efforts of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action within its Lightweighting Initiative will be given and future developments will be discussed.
