When it comes to composites and sustainability, women are leading the way enacting change from within organizations - whether it’s from the top down, bottom up or middle out - sustainability is no longer labeled a green initiative or for people with dedicated roles. Today many women focus on sustainability trends not because it is their formal role, but an issue they have taken upon themselves feeling a responsibility to influence the future for the better. This is a powerful trend, as women have been playing a significant role in sustainability efforts within organizations for decades. Why are women now leading the way? The sustainability space requires collaboration and knowledge sharing. Sustainability isn’t a competitive field, but rather a complex and urgent challenge affecting the world and our future. This fits with women’s leadership styles, as the tendency is to lead by sharing ideas. This panel will focus on women who understand that it’s important to educate and support one another as we take on society’s challenges.
